Depression Therapy

Understanding Depression and How I Can Help

“You have power over your mind — not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” – Marcus Aurelius

Depression can feel like a heavy cloud that’s hard to escape. You may notice constant fatigue, a loss of interest in things you once enjoyed, difficulty sleeping, feeling hopeless, or being overwhelmed by negative thoughts. It’s more than just feeling down—it can affect your mind, body, and ability to connect with others.

In our work together, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a well-researched approach that helps you recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. CBT gives you practical tools to manage your mood, challenge negative beliefs, and create meaningful changes in your daily life.

Alongside this, I also draw on Stoic principles—timeless wisdom that helps us focus on what we can control, rather than being consumed by what we can’t. Stoicism teaches that while we can’t always choose our circumstances, we can choose how we respond to them. This mindset encourages resilience, emotional clarity, and a sense of inner strength—even in the midst of pain.

Together, we’ll work to quiet the noise of self-judgment, build healthier ways of thinking, and help you reconnect with a sense of purpose and peace.

Feeling Overwhelmed and Drained Lately? You’re Not Alone.

Have you been feeling a little lost lately—like the things you once loved don’t spark joy anymore? Maybe it feels like you’re moving through life in slow motion, weighed down by sadness, hopelessness, or even guilt. It’s okay if you’re having a hard time focusing—whether it’s work, relationships, or just doing the things that used to bring you peace.

Sometimes, we find ourselves slipping into habits that don’t really serve us—just trying to find a moment of relief, even if it doesn’t last. And if you’ve felt this way for a long time, it’s easy to start believing this is just how life is supposed to feel.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

You deserve to feel happiness, calm, and a sense of purpose. Reaching out for help is a brave and powerful first step. Healing is possible—and with the right support, you can begin to feel like yourself again.

Depression Is About More Than Just Feeling Sad

Living with depression can feel like you’re carrying a heavy weight that no one else can see. It’s not always obvious on the outside, and it doesn’t look the same for everyone. But if you’ve been struggling, please know that what you’re feeling is valid—and you’re not alone.

Some common experiences of depression include:

• Irregular sleep patterns—sleeping too much or barely at all

• Noticeable weight changes, often without trying

• Changes in appetite—eating more or less than usual

• Persistent exhaustion or fatigue, no matter how much rest you get

• Overwhelming sadness that’s hard to shake

• Feelings of worthlessness or low self-esteem

• Frequent crying spells, sometimes without a clear reason

• Mental fog or confusion

• Feeling trapped, stuck, or like life is out of your control

• Challenges in maintaining healthy relationships

• A sense of disconnection from others—and even from yourself

You don’t have to keep feeling this way. Depression is treatable, and healing is possible. With the right support, we can work together to help you rediscover a life that feels full, grounded, and meaningful—maybe even more so than ever before. There is a way forward, even if you can’t quite see it yet.

You’re Not Alone—Depression Is Far More Common Than You Might Think

Depression doesn’t have a single face. It can affect anyone—regardless of age, gender, background, race, or sexuality. Even if it feels like you’re the only one going through this, the truth is, you’re not. Depression is one of the most common mental health conditions in the U.S. In fact, around 21 million adults have experienced at least one major depressive episode—that’s about 8.3% of the adult population.¹

Modern Life Can Be a Lot—And That’s Nothing to Be Ashamed Of

Our world moves fast, and the pressure to keep up can be intense. Between endless to-do lists, demanding work or school schedules, and the weight of trying to meet society’s expectations, it’s easy to feel stretched thin or like you’re constantly falling short. That constant stress takes a toll—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally, too.

It’s Okay to Ask for Help

No matter where your depression stems from—whether it’s life stress, relationship strain, or something harder to name—healing is possible. Working with a supportive, skilled therapist can help you learn to manage your symptoms, reconnect with yourself, and find meaningful ways to move forward.
